Yearly catalog showing an array of corporate gift ideas. The holiday catalogs were the largest print project of the year. As the company's only in-house designer, I played an integral role in the entire catalog including layout, design, photo retouching, typesetting, proofreading, as well as working closely with the photographer and printer. Aside from creating the catalog, I also helped to create gift baskets.
Worked closely with outside vendors to develop many of the elements that went into the gift baskets
This was the bane of my existence. As well as putting this catalog together I was also in charge of a gold-foil/ribbon printer. The noise. It was a high-pitched grinding sound and literally gave me Bell's Palsy (literally). I'm pretty sure it also assisted in the Shingles I came down with a couple months later. Aside from that, it was a pretty cool machine that I mastered. During the holiday season (the companies main period of revenue) I would teach approximately seven people how to use these machines. One woman happened to be my mom, so that was fun. I still cry when I see imprinted ribbon.
